What is Retiree Funeral Assistance?
From a post written by the PSD Pension Division, heirs who manage the bodies of government pensioners can submit a claim for Funeral Management Assistance (BMJ) of RM3,000. This assistance is provided as financial support to help offset the costs of arranging the body of a retiree who has died.
According to the JPA, claims must be submitted within 12 months of the date of death of the retiree. However, this assistance is only provided if the government pensioner dies and does not cover the death of the retired spouse who is not a government pensioner.
The completed application form can be sent to KWAP via the official channels provided.
This facility also covers federal pensioners, state pensioners, statutory bodies and local governments who qualify under the government pension scheme.

Individuals eligible to apply are heirs of Malaysian Government retirees who died on or after 15 October 2010 covers retired Federal Civil Servants, State Civil Servants, Statutory Bodies, Local Government and EPF Scheme retirees.

How Will Payments Be Disbursed?
Payment of Pensioner Funeral Assistance will be made in accordance with the procedures determined by the competent authorities. For recipients in Malaysia, payments can be transferred via spear or direct credit to bank account registered.
