Meaning and Examples of Holiday Speeches

Minal Aidin Wal Faizin (Minal ‘Aidin Wal Faizin) is one of the Eid al-Fitr greetings that is usually said after wishing you a Happy Eid.

Many people think this expression says “Sorry Zahir and Batin” because it is usually said after the words “Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Minal Aidin Wal Faizin” but do you know what this expression means?

Check out the meaning and example of Minal Aidil Wal Faizin’s speech below.

What does “Minal Aidin Wal Faizin” mean?

The words “minal aidin (aidil)” mean the returning group.

Meanwhile, “wal faizin” means the winning group.

According to the Language and Literature Council (DBP), DBP Presidential Dictionary 2020, minalaidinwalfaizin means: “Hopefully we will be included in the group of humans who return to the pure world from sin and achieve success.”

According to several sources, the complete expression is “ja’anallahu minal ‘aidin wal faizin” which means may Allah make us among those who return (fitrah) and become winners.

Minal Aidin Wal Faizin (more precisely Minal ‘Aidin Wal Faizin because the letter ‘ain is not alif for ‘aidin) is already in Arabic/Javanese as follows:

Of the returnees and the winners

No, that doesn’t mean “Sorry Zahir and Batin”!

Even though this expression comes from Arabic, Arabs rarely say it during Eid al-Fitr.

However, in our country, Malaysia and neighboring countries such as Indonesia, this greeting has become a habit and is commonplace when saying Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to other people.

That’s strange, isn’t it?

OK, let’s see what the Language and Library Board (DBP) says about the meaning of the expression.

Example of a Holiday Speech

Said Al Hafidh Ibnu Hajar in “Al Mahamiliyat” with Hasan Kanad from Jubair bin Nufair said:

When the Companions of Rasulullah SAW met on Eid al-Fitr, they would say to each other, “May God accept it from us and from you.”

It means: “When the companions of the Prophet SAW met on the Eid al-Fitr holiday, some of them said to the others: Taqabballahu minnaa wa minka (May Allah accept our and your deeds)”.

Ibn Qudamah in “Al-Mughni” states that Muhammad bin Ziyad said: “I was once with Abu Umamah Al Bahili and others from among the companions of the Prophet SAW. When they returned from the Eid prayer, some of them said to others:

May God accept it from us and from you

It means: “Taqabbalallahu minnaa wa minka.”

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
