Some more fascinating concept art has recently come to light, shedding light on the creative process behind the blockbuster film “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” This new concept art showcases Jacob Batalon in his role as Ned Leeds, but with a twist – he’s channeling his inner Hobgoblin. The imaginative artwork was skillfully crafted by Phil Saunders, a talented artist associated with Marvel Studios. As he unveiled this intriguing piece of art, Saunders offered some valuable insight into the creative process that went into its creation.

It’s not uncommon for concept art to reveal alternate storylines or character arcs that were considered during the development of a major film like “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” In this instance, the art hints at the possibility of Ned Leeds, Peter Parker’s loyal friend, taking on the persona of the infamous Hobgoblin. This concept raises numerous questions and sparks the imaginations of fans, who can’t help but wonder how this storyline might have played out on the big screen.

The concept art also serves as a testament to the meticulous planning and creative brainstorming that occurs behind the scenes of such a complex cinematic universe. Marvel Studios is renowned for its commitment to exploring various narrative avenues and character dynamics, and this artwork is a prime example of their dedication to pushing boundaries and keeping fans engaged.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to evolve and expand, fans can look forward to more surprises and twists in future films. While the concept art for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” showcases an intriguing path that wasn’t taken, it adds to the excitement of what lies ahead in the ever-expanding Marvel universe. Whether Ned Leeds will indeed don the mantle of the Hobgoblin in future installments or if this remains a tantalizing “what if” scenario, only time will tell. Marvel enthusiasts can’t help but eagerly anticipate the next thrilling chapter in this iconic superhero saga.

“Another unused #spidermannowayhome idea that I’m thrilled made it into the “Art of” book. This was an early idea proposed where Ned gets a shot at riding the Goblin Glider during the final battle, a nice bit of fan service given Ned’s ultimate turn in the comic book universe. As serendipity would have it, Queens’ own Mets wear orange and blue, the colors of #hobgoblin, so I have Ned wearing the hoodie as another little nod. But just to show you how far we take research and character-building at #marvel #visdev, Ned’s wearing the number 50, an homage to Benny Agbayani, the Hawaiian-Filipino Mets left-fielder who would undoubtedly be one of Ned’s heroes, given their shared heritage.

“I painted the image in #Photoshop, and modeled and rendered the Glider in #Modo based my colleague @joshnizzi.art’s masterful update on the original. The classic Pumpkin Bomb in his hand was designed by my good friend.”
