This exam is managed entirely by the Department of Islamic Affairs Overseas. For example, for the state of Johor, this exam will be administered by the Johor State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAINJ) while for the state of Selangor, this exam will be administered by the Selangor State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAIS) and in Sabah by the Education Division of the Sabah State Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS).

There may be some who are still considering whether studying at the Religious High School (SMA) level is worth considering or not.

The Secondary Religious Certificate is the certificate that we will use when applying for the Malaysian Higher Religious Certificate (STAM).

God willing, if you excel you can continue your studies in Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Türkiye and so on.

For those who don’t know, STAM is equivalent to STPM or is considered Pre-University study.

STAM involves 11 courses and Malaysian University English (MUET).

Apart from that, currently recruitment for preparatory courses for the Bachelor of Teachers’ Program at Teacher Education Institutions also uses a high school certificate.

Sijil Tengah Agama is a secondary level religious diploma that uses the syllabus from Al-Azhar University, and SMA is also recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

In the past, grade 3 students had to take 2 diploma exams in the same year, namely the Lower Education Certificate (SRP) and the Lower Religious Certificate (SRA).
