An Introduction to Superstar Comedy Music

Musical Lawak Superstar is a comedy reality show that combines musical and comedy elements in one show. This show is broadcast on Astro Warna.

This is Maharaja Lawak Mega’s “Spin-Off” show which pairs a group consisting of Malaysian celebrity comedians and joined by artists from various branches of the entertainment industry such as actors, singers and popular figures.

They will compete by presenting a performance with a musical concept with elements of comedy.

Each episode carries a different theme. So, each team needs to hone their creativity in producing heart-touching and entertaining sketches.

The musical Lawak Superstar not only features comedy elements, but also gives the participants the opportunity to show their talents in acting, singing and even dancing.

Each performance is accompanied by stunning music and a colorful stage backdrop, making this event not only entertaining but also fun to watch for all ages.

Musical Comedy Superstars 2025

The fifth season of Musical Comedy Superstar 2025 returns with the epic theme “Clash of Empire”, bringing together 10 groups representing world empires in the fight for the nation’s musical comedy throne.

Each group consisting of actors, comedians, singers and influencers appears as ‘heroes’ of legendary empires such as Rome, the Archipelago, Japan, China, France, the Mughals, the Mongols and many more to maintain their dignity on stage every week.​​

MLS5 will be broadcast live starting October 11 2025, every Saturday, at 9 pm on Astro Prima and features the tagline “Arena Pahlawak Terbahak Kau Kaw” as a symbol of the different concepts of comedy fighting and the challenges of delivering creative music.

This season is also strengthened by the presence of big names and new figures in the entertainment world, including Fad and Achey Bocey, Man Raja Lawak, Zul Huzaimy, Joey Daud, Norreen Iman, Naqiu as well as a new generation of comedians and celebrities such as Maryam Kimchi, Aishah Azman, Waarn and many more.

Apart from competing musical comedy creatives, MLS5 is a place to search for ‘unexpected’ comedy talent from various backgrounds, while strengthening the legacy of the Malaysian comedy and entertainment industry with fresh, theatrical and team spirit shows.​​

The live broadcast will be carried out from the CIDB Convention Center, Cheras. For those who want to watch from home or anywhere, you can watch via On Demand on Astro Ultra/Ulti Box as well as the Astro GO and Sooka applications.

The implementation of this fifth edition was enlivened by collaboration with Gempak as Digital Partner, and ERA & SINAR as Official Radio Partner.

This new format offers a more theatrical experience where participants must not only display speed and wit of humor, but also dramatic ability in presenting the character of the sultanate in a humorous and message-filled way.

MLS season 5 also uses a more competitive judging system where scores are given by a panel of professional judges along with a spectator draw.​

The fifth season of Musikal Lawak Superstar 2025 is still led by the iconic host, Datuk AC Mizal.

What’s interesting about the 2025 season is that there will be a change in the jury, namely a new trio who are expected to add a fresher and more critical assessment angle. The jury consists of:

• Datuk Aznil Hj. Nawawi (Pak Nil) – a versatile lawyer in this country
• Zizan Razak – popular comedian & actor
• Bella Astillah – singer and actress loved by many people
