Money Review Not Surviving – Egumis Department of National Accountant


Referring to part 8 of the 1965 WTD ACT, the purpose of unwanted money (WTD) under the category (B) is money in credit credit that has not been handled by the owner in any period of more than seven (7) years. The egumis portal can now be accessed formally to facilitate the online money review (WTD) online at the review link can be done either using the identity card number (individual) or company registration number (company).

The Malaysian Department of Accountants (JanM) recorded a total of RM12.7 billion in unwilling money (WTD) until January 31, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

MOF through written answers on the parliamentary website informs that individuals or beneficiaries are entitled to submit online claim applications through an official official portal.

The ministry said Janm had taken various steps to inform the WTD to the owner or beneficiary, including the awareness campaign through a briefing and a lawsuit applied in government and private programs, such as the People’s Madani Program, Open Customers and Government Department Customers and Public Places.

“This is to allow the public to review whether they have money that has not been claimed.

“Until 2024, a total of 158 and awareness programs were held throughout Malaysia to inform the public about the existence of WTD and the method of claiming it,” he said in a written reply to the House of Representatives.

The ministry answers the question of S Kesavan (Snail Ph-Sungai) about the latest amount of WTD and the process of demanding money and government steps taken to inform the WTD to their owners or beneficiaries.

At the same time, the Ministry of Finance, said Janm also held an online briefing to the government and private institutions to explain the method of review and application for the WTD claim application.

What money is not claimed?

Referring to part 8 of the 1965 WTD ACT, the purpose of unwanted money (WTD) under the category (B) is money in credit credit that has not been handled by the owner in any period of more than seven (7) years.

This means that WTD is an individual’s or company owned money whether in the form of savings, dividends, insurance claims, bank concepts or not claimed by their owners during that period.

Unlocked money or WTD is also money that must be paid to someone but failed to be paid in one year.

For example:

  • salary, rent, bonuses, commissions and other money paid to staff;
  • dividend;
  • Profit is declared divided;
  • Insurance claims approved for payment;
  • Bank draft, cashier order, and other documents with similar functions where the legal period has expired;
  • keep storage (without automatic update instructions);
  • guarantee and deposit when the purpose of money is collected;
  • Some multi -credit debtors or debtors.

In addition, money in an account that is not active for 7 years is included in the WTD. For example:

  • Savings account;
  • Current account;
  • Fixed savings (which have automatic update instructions).

Likewise, the money in a trading account credit has not been operated through any transaction in a period of no less than two (2) years. For example:

  • Credit trading debt account.
  • Trade Debt Account;

Who manages money that is not claimed?

Malaysian accountants have been appointed by the Minister of Finance as Registrants Unexpected money came into force on June 1, 1975.

The roles and tasks of the registrant are as follows:

  • i) The clerk is responsible for paying back the WTD from every applicant who can prove that the applicant has the right to the WTD.
  • ii) Registrar functions as the trustee of the WTD.
  • iii) Registrar has the power to examine company or company records to ensure compliance with WTD ACT 1965.
  • IV) Registrar has the power to force a fine on a company or company that fails to comply with the provisions of the 1965 WTD ACT.

Egumic portal function

The egumis portal provides the following facilities

  1. Make payments for sending WTD via FPX;
  2. Upload a list of registered WTDs online;
  3. Check the status of shipping WTD sent online;
  4. Receipt of lost WTD submission;
  5. download the WTD letter; And
  6. Updating company/company records that have been registered in the WTD Registrar System.

Individuals and companies/companies are allowed to make WTD reviews online through the identification number and company registration number.

How to review money that is not locked online through an egumic portal

To facilitate the online review of the WTD, the National Accountant Department (JanM) has launched an egumis portal.

To use the system, you need to follow a few simple steps below:

Step 1 : Visit the portal link

Step 2 : Make user registration online. The user will receive an email that determines the temporary password to enter the portal.

Step 3 : Enter the portal using a temporary password. Users need to change the new password.

Step 4 : Update user information.

Step 5 : Click “Click here for the search for money not excluded” to create a WTD review through the identification number or company registration number and print information information (if any)

The system only allows search 2 times a day.

You can search again using the identity card number you want.

WTD claim process

If there is an immoral amount of money, you can apply for your latest bank account.

Applications for WTD claims meet the requirements for the following parties:

  • WTD owner/owner;
  • Property Administrator (WASI) mentioned in the Letter of Administration of the Estate;
  • Liquidation that represents the company/company in the closing process
  • Individual or company/company mentioned in the court order; or
  • Malaysian Commission/Department of Bankruptcy of Malaysia for Companies/Goods or Bankruptcy Companies

After making a claim, your money will be processed and usually takes about 1 month to be credited to a bank account specified in the claim form.
