KPM Phase Time-Based Promotion (Phase 1/2026)


It is announced that Time-Based Achievement Promotion Advertisements (TBBK) for Education Service Officials (PPP) will be opened for candidates who meet the requirements from January to June 2026 through

This involves PPP Classes DG10 to DG14 under the Malaysian Remuneration System (SSPA) and Classes DG44 to DG54 under the Malaysian Remuneration System (SSM).

Applications can be made via the ePangkat System starting January 1 2026.

Here we share more details about this time-based promotion.

History of eRank

The KPM e-Rank system was introduced around 2008 to overcome the weaknesses of the internal promotion management system such as the length of the process and any errors that may arise.

This is a system that provides flexible promotion information for all teachers under the Ministry of Education Malaysia.

With this system, all teacher information and information will be stored in the system, making it easier for KPM to manage matters related to changes in pre-teacher rank.

With the integrated ePangkat system, errors can be avoided and KPM management can monitor teacher promotions.

With this system, teachers themselves can update their latest information and check to ensure there are no errors regarding their personal information.

Purpose of eRank

Since its introduction, ePangkat has had several main objectives, including:

  1. Makes it easier for teachers to update their latest information to avoid problems in matters of promotion
  2. Provide an organized promotion management system
  3. Simplify and automate all promotion, placement and position change processes and matters
  4. Facilitate planning for promotions, placements and changes in positions
  5. Guarantee more systematic promotions by utilizing communication and information technology

Important Dates for eRank Phase 1/2026

Register and log in to ePangkat

Here are the steps to register your account (for first time users) and you can login after completing registration:

  1. Visit the KPM e-Pangkat page at the address
  2. Those who wish to register can do so by clicking the “Not registered yet?”
  3. To register an account, enter details such as Identity Card Number, Password and Email Address.
  4. Then, click the “Submit” button.

Important Warning!!

  • Department Heads are reminded to lock, upload and update important documents and information such as candidate service information in the ePangkat System.
  • Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately avoid dropping out of school in terms of this promotion.

Tips for Promotion via KPM e-Rank

DG44 Time Based Excellence Promotion (TBBK) is a process offered annually.

Many people have gone through this phase. For the results of my own process & sharing experiences, I immortalize them here.

  1. ALWAYS BE AWARE OF THE SERVICE PERIOD
    • The appointed PPPS must serve at least 8 years.
    • PPLD also has a length of service calculation that can be used for promotion. If you want to use the DG48 boarding time, you can.
  2. PROMOTIONAL ADVERTISING
    • We checked this advertisement on the ePangkat website. You don’t even need enough services to sign up.
    • Advertisements are published twice a year for appointments Jan – June & July – December (months not specified).
  3. INITIAL PREPARATION
    • PT/Head of Department will ask for several documents:
      I. SPP Appointment Letter
      I. SPP Appointment Confirmation Letter
      iii. School Placement Letter
      iv. In-Service Confirmation Letter
    • PT will upload this document once the advertisement is out & open for applications. You can refer to the flowchart to see the important dates of the application process. Also prepare additional documents:
      I. Academic Degree/Certificate
      I. Professional Graduation Certificate (for Twinning Program, for a letter from IPG stating that the degree from the university is equivalent to a Bachelor of Education)
  4. APPLICATION
    • There are 2 types of applications; online & manual. Online for those who don’t have problems such as unpaid leave, study leave. You can refer to the letter issued by JPA for accurate information. Manual for those who have such problems. My story is just online, okay…
    • PT & KJ will upload 3 important documents including the Service Record Book (BRP). This one we can’t access, it’s stored in PPD. They will arrange it. So if there is a change of school, PPD, department, it is checked. The BRP also contains a letter reference number, so make sure the letter is the same as on the BRP.
    • The Department Head will check & fill in relevant information such as LNPT scores for the last 3 years. The requirement must be more than 85%, if I’m not mistaken, the three-year weight.
    • Once everything is done, we log in using our e-Rank ID to check & ensure complete information such as education loans, disciplinary action & etc.
    • When finished, click Apply. We can print application slips in the TBBK section.
    • Does not apply if the information has not been updated by PT & KJ.
  5. PROCESS
    • We have several forms such as:
      I. Integrity Screening Candidate Details (MACC)
      I. Excellence Assessment Form (KC) 1a for class 41.
      I, I, I. Declaration of Candidate Choice Class DG41/DG42 to DG44 (ExPPLD)
      iv. LNPT Value Confirmation Letter (2020, 2019, 2018)
    • Also prepare:
      I. Copy of document uploaded on ePangkat (see KPM release: Paragraph 5 – p/s 4-5)
      I. The application slip that we print when making an application in 3(e).
    • Submit everything that has been filled in completely for verification by the school because we will submit the documents to the respective JPN Promotion Unit (before January 20 according to JPN).

USE:

  • There is a form that we can just download on the e-Pangkat website.
  • There are many examples of Excellence Evaluation Forms (KC) on the internet. You can see the example sentences. We have to fill in our contributions for the last 3 years.
  • Be diligent in asking PT & KJ if there is any confusion.
