Daniel Kaluuya-Directed Netflix Sci-Fi Thriller THE KITCHEN Trailer

Netflix has just unveiled a captivating preview for the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, “The Kitchen,” a cinematic creation helmed by the multifaceted talent Daniel Kaluuya. Renowned for his memorable roles in films like “Get Out,” “Black Panther,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Nope,” and his recent venture into the animated realm with “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” Kaluuya takes the directorial reins for this intriguing project. Collaborating in the director’s chair with him is Kibwe Tavares, marking his debut in the feature film landscape.

Adding depth to the narrative, the screenplay is a collaborative effort between Kaluuya and Joe Murtagh, the creative mind behind the critically acclaimed “American Animals” and the series “The Woman in the Wall.”

The film’s ensemble cast is led by Kane Robinson, portraying the character Izi, and introduces Jedaiah Bannerman in his inaugural acting role as Benji. Joining them on this cinematic journey are an array of talented co-stars, including Hope Ikpoku Jr., Ian Wright, BackRoad Gee, Cristale, Teija Kabs, and Demmy Ladipo. As the trailer teases the enigmatic plot and the unfolding drama, anticipation builds for a cinematic experience that promises to be both visually stunning and narratively captivating.

The film’s synopsis reads:

In a dystopian London, the gap between rich and poor has been stretched to its limits. All forms of social housing have been eradicated and only The Kitchen remains. A community that refuses to move out of the place they call home. This is where we meet a solitary Izi, living here by necessity and desperately trying to find a way out, and a 12-year-old Benji, who has lost his mother and is searching for a family. We follow our unlikely pair as they struggle to forge a relationship in a system that is stacked against them.
