1. Sarawak Special Assistance Announcement

The Sarawak Government continues to be committed to helping the community through implementation Sarawak Special Assistance 2026which was announced on April 16, 2026. This initiative includes the financial aid increases below Sarawak Basic Food Donations (SKAS).discounts on electricity bills, as well as reduced rental costs for small businesses.

i) Increase in Sarawak Basic Food Contributions (SKAS).

The Sarawak Government has increased the level of assistance below Sarawak Basic Food Donations (SKAS). as a proactive step to deal with the rising cost of living.

This increase shows the government’s concern for people’s basic needs such as food, daily expenses and household needs. These new rates have a greater impact on recipients than in previous years.

For information, stage 2 payments will be credited on May 15 2026.

ii) Electricity Bill Discount of 25%.

Apart from cash assistance, the government also provides special discounts on electricity bills for domestic users.

This step helps people reduce monthly commitments, especially for households that use electricity consistently. This also provides relief to low and middle income groups.

I, I, I) 50% Rental Discount for Small Businesses

The Sarawak government also pays attention to small entrepreneurs by reducing rental costs for premises.

This discount helps small traders reduce monthly operational costs such as kiosk and shop rentals. Indirectly helping them maintain their business while increasing their competitiveness.

• Discount: 50% rent.
• Including:
  • Regional Government Owned Market (PBT)
  • PBT booth
  • Business premises owned by the government/legal entity

2. Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package

The Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package is an initiative of the Selangor State Government to assist the community and industry in facing the energy supply crisis.

There are 7 main tools in the package, namely;

• Ehsan Rahmah Tour,
• Selangor Food Warehouse,
• Our Vouchers Selangor,
• Public transport fare subsidies,
• Free breakfast assistance for school students,
• Agricultural sector assistance, and
• Empowering Selangor cooperative entrepreneurs

The first phase will start in JUNE 2026.

3. Update STR 2026

Please update the basic information if there is a warning message or submit an Appeal if your MySTR Dashboard appears.

Applicants need to create update app STR is as follows:

• Not updating the app three years in a row.
• Individuals who apply for an STR and have not registered a bank account at the time of initial application can also add this information when updating the application.
• STR recipients who have information on recent changes such as being married, having more children, or changes in household income.
• Applicants who wish to add or change bank account information, mailing addresses, telephone numbers of the applicant and their spouse, as well as heir information are also encouraged to update to ensure smooth aid payments.
• For those who have passed the STR application but there is a change in marital status, such as divorce or the death of a partner, you can update their information after the update date opens.

4. One-time HEI (BUDI) Registration Cash Assistance

The Sabah State Government offers Cash Assistance for Higher Education Institution Registration (BUDI) for Sabah students who meet the requirements and can register via

This special incentive is given to Sabah-born students who continue their studies at HEI and school students who meet the requirements. The grants provided aim to ease the burden on Sabah students to continue their studies to a higher level.

The amount of assistance that will be given to IPT students who meet the requirements on a one-time basis is as follows:

• Diploma/Foundation/Matriculation: RM1500
• Bachelor Degree: RM2000

Registration for one-time IPT cash assistance opens from April 20, 2026 (Monday) to qualified applicants.

5.KTM 30% discount.

The 30% KTM discount can be enjoyed by purchasing ETS tickets for all sectors as well as the Eastern People’s Express (ERT) route JB Sentral – Tumpat – JB Sentral starting April 15, 2026 to April 30, 2026.

Get tickets on the KITS Style application or on all KTMB ticket purchasing media and enter the promo code.

This discount is valid for the duration of the trip April 15, 2026 to October 14, 2026 (ETS), 15 April 2026 to 30 June 2026 (ERT), only Monday to Thursday and excludes school holidays & national holidays.

6. SME-UP Assistance 2026

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Sabah have the opportunity to get SME-UP Assistance Program grants via the link

The main aim of this assistance is to build entrepreneurial capacity, resilience and competitiveness through grant assistance.

With the help of this grant, SME entrepreneurs in the State of Sabah can develop their businesses.

The application date for this assistance program is open until May 16 2026 (Saturday).
