SPM 2026 Registration (Private Candidates)
SPM 2026 registration for private candidates is now open for both new and repeat candidates. Registration can be done online via the official portal of the Examination Agency at:
Candidates who wish to apply can do so from March 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026. Make sure registration is done within the specified time period to avoid late payments or registration problems.
Below we share further information regarding how to register and important information for 2026 private SPM candidates.
SPM 2026 Private Candidates
Private candidates are individuals who take the SPM exam outside the regular school system.
Interested candidates must meet a number of key requirements, including being at least 16 years old by 1 January 2026 and enrolled in six core subjects.
Open to new candidates (first time sitting SPM) and repeat candidates (previously sitting SPM).
Candidates who have taken the SPM previously and wish to take the exam again can register as re-candidates
Candidates need to pay a basic fee of RM20, as well as additional fees according to the subjects registered. The exam is expected to take place in November 2025.
Registration will only be processed after payment of the exam fee is received. Candidates are also advised to choose an examination center close to their residence, depending on the vacancies available.

Here’s how to register for SPM 2026 private candidates:

NOTE: All information for private spm exams and repeat spm exams will be sent via email by the Examining Body. Therefore, make sure you use your active email.
SPM 2026 Registration Date (Private Candidates)
Registration for private candidates participating in SPM 2026 can be done from March 1 2026 to April 30 2026.

Late Registration
Candidates who register late (1 May 2026 – 15 May 2026) will be charged a Late Registration Fee of RM150 for each application.
This fee is not included in the basic fees and course fees.
Exam Fee Rates
The SPM and SPMU exam fee rates for private candidates are determined by the Examination Board, Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM). The fees charged include the basic fee and fees for each registered subject.
The fee structure varies according to candidate category SPMU, SPM Private Candidateor prospective private schools and state religious schools (Code D and F).
1. SPMU Examination Fee Rates (Private Candidates)
For prospective SPMU exam participants, only 3 (three) subjects are offered, namely Malay Language, History and Mathematics.

This means the total cost depends on the number of subjects taken, including the base fee of RM20.00.
