SKAS 2026 (Sarawak Basic Food Donations)

The government announced an increase in Sarawak Basic Food Donation (SKAS 2026) financial assistance in the form of digital vouchers that can be used via the S Pay Global application (e-wallet) for basic food purchases. SKAS Stage 1 will begin to be distributed to eligible recipients starting March 10, 2026. Status checking can be done via the official Sarawak Government Portal, namely Credit, which can also be checked directly via the SPay Global application.

Household recipients earning RM5,000 and below will receive RM950, while single recipients earning RM2,500 and below will receive RM300.

For senior citizens without a spouse or children with an income of RM5,000 and below, they will receive RM500.

Sarawak Basic Needs Donations (SKAS) will begin to be distributed to eligible recipients from March 10 via the SPay Global platform.

Quoting a report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), this was conveyed at the SKAS Launch Ceremony Coordination Meeting at the Kapit Division level which was held at the Kapit State Government Complex to ensure that the implementation of the program ran smoothly, in an orderly manner and achieved the set targets.

Acting Resident of the Kapit Division, Robert Liman Deli, said that close coordination is very important to ensure that aid can be distributed to recipients without any confusion or technical obstacles.

According to him, integrated cooperation between all relevant agencies needs to be strengthened, especially regarding technical aspects, logistics and outreach to target groups.

“Early coordination is very important to avoid confusion, especially regarding technical matters, logistics and outreach to recipients,” he said when chairing today’s meeting.

UKAS also reported that the SKAS Sarawak Level Launching Ceremony is planned to take place in Kuching on March 7.

Therefore, recipients are reminded to ensure their respective SPay Global applications are active and accessible to confirm receipt of assistance.

What is SKAS 2026?

SKAS is financial assistance in the form of digital vouchers that can be used via the S Pay Global application (e-wallet) to purchase basic necessities.

According to Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari, the SKAS allocated RM640 million next year is expected to benefit around more than one million beneficiaries.

He made this statement when presenting the 2026 Sarawak State Budget at the last session of the State Legislative Council (DUN).

Eligibility Requirements & Recipient Categories

  • Sarawak K ID holders who have an address and are domiciled in Sarawak;
  • Recipient information is based on updated Rahmah Cash Donation (STR) data
  • Eligible recipients are divided into Households, Singles and Seniors without spouse and children.

Recipient Category

A) Home Contents Category

  • Married; or
  • Single mother or father/widow/widow who has dependents (children/parents);
  • Gross monthly income of RM5,000 and below; And
  • There is no age limit.

B) Single Category

  • Bachelor; or
  • Single mother or father/widow/widow who has no dependents;
  • Gross monthly income RM2,500 and below; And
  • Age limit 21-59 years; And
  • Single Persons with Disabilities (OKU) aged 19 years and over; And
  • Not a permanent student of a State Higher Education Institute (IPTA)/Private Higher Education Institute (IPTS).

C) Golden Citizen Category

  • Bachelor; or
  • Single mother or father/widow/widow who has no children;
  • Gross monthly income of RM5,000 and below; And
  • Age limit is 60 years and over.

2026 SKAS Assistance Amount

The value of Sarawak Basic Food Donations (SKAS) assistance ranges from RM250 to RM800 depending on the approved recipient category. The amount of SKAS assistance that will be received is as follows:

  • Recipient home contents category with income of RM5,000 and below will receive valuable assistance RM950 a year. (Paid in 3 stages, means RM316 per stage)
  • Recipient single category with income of RM2,500 and below will receive valuable assistance RM300 a year. (Paid in 3 stages, means RM100 per stage)
  • Recipient category of golden citizens without spouse/children with income of RM5,000 and below will receive valuable assistance RM500 a year. (Paid in 3 stages, means RM166 per stage)

The following is the amount of SKAS 2026 assistance that will be received for Phases 1, 2 and 3:

SKAS Phase 1 Payment Date

LATEST : SKAS Phase 1 will be credited to Spay Global accounts starting 10.03.2026. (Tuesday)

Aid will be distributed 3 times a year, namely once every 4 months.

SKAS Phase 2 Payment Date

SKAS Phase 2 which is scheduled for July 2026 will begin. SKAS Phase 2 dates are now active May 25, 2026 (Monday) ahead of Hari Raya Haji & Gawai 2026.

In 2026, the Sarawak government announced an increase in the SKAS allocation to RM640 million, which is expected to benefit more than one million beneficiaries.
