Sacrificial Worship, Nail & Hair Cutting

The sacrificial service is one of the Islamic teachings that is strictly required for healthy-bodied Muslims every time the month of Zulhijjah arrives.

When a Muslim has the intention and spends money to carry out the sacrifice, the Shari’a determines the law makruh tanzih for them to cut their hair, shave their body hair, or cut their nails starting from the 1st of Zulhijjah until the sacrificial animal is slaughtered.

This prohibition is intended for every part of the body Sahibul Victim (the owner of the sacrifice) remains intact and perfect as long as the blood of the sacrifice flows, thus being the cause of his entire body being free from hellfire in the afterlife.

Apart from that, this practice provides a spiritual opportunity for Muslims who do not perform the Hajj to also experience some of the atmosphere of ihram and sacrifice as experienced by Hajj pilgrims in the Holy Land of Mecca.

According to Imam al-Nawawi’s interpretation in Sahih Muslim, this prohibition is comprehensive and includes:

  • Nail: Removing nails either by cutting, overturning, pulling out, or breaking them on purpose.
  • Hair & Fur: Shaving, shortening, plucking, or burning hair on the body including head hair, mustache, beard, armpit hair, and pubic hair.

For people who intentionally or accidentally cut their nails or hair before carrying out the sacrifice, simply ask Allah for forgiveness. He is not subject to fidyah (ransom or fine).

Ibnu Qudamah RH said: “If that happens, he should immediately ask Allah for forgiveness. According to the consensus, there is no fidya at all, whether done intentionally or not.” (Kitab al-Mughni by Ibn Qudamah, vol. p. 96)

Law on Cutting Nails and Hair for Victim Participants

From Umm Salamah RA, the Prophet SAW said:

“Whoever has a sacrificial animal to be slaughtered, then when he sees the new moon of Zulhijjah, let him not take anything (i.e. cut) from its hair, nor from its nails until he completes his sacrifice.”

(Muslim History Hadith, No. 1977)

Thus, the law of cutting the victim’s nailshair and all body hair (hair, armpit hair, beard, mustache, pubic hair, etc.) are MAKRUH.

The makruh referred to is tanzih makruh, which is a sinless forbidden act that violates the call to prayer and is better abandoned.

When our first Zulhijjah arrives circumcise, don’t cut your nailshair and all hair on the body (hair, armpit hair, beard, moustache, pubic hair, etc.) in any way that can be removed until the sacrifice is completed to obtain the reward of circumcision.

When Can I Cut My Nails?

Once the mosque or sacrificial representative confirms that your animal has been slaughtered, you can cut its nails and hair.

If your animal is scheduled for slaughter on the day of tasyrik (11, 12, or 13 Zulhijjah equivalent May 28 to 30, 2026), you have to wait until the day of slaughter is over.

If you are participating in koraban abroad (for example in Cambodia, Africa, or Mecca), you need to check the time zone difference and wait for official confirmation from the organizer before cutting your nails.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
